What is a DMA card, and how does it work?

A DMA card is a small PCIe card that goes in the PC you play on and reads its memory. It sends that down a USB cable to a second computer, and the software there shows you what it finds.

What DMA means

DMA stands for direct memory access. It's a normal PC feature that lets some hardware read and write the system's memory on its own. Plenty of ordinary PCIe devices work this way.

A DMA card uses the same feature on purpose. It sits in a slot like any other card and sends the data to your second computer. Nothing of ours gets installed on the PC you play on.

How the setup fits together

• The card goes in your main PC.
  That's the PC you play on. It uses one PCIe lane, so it fits any free slot, even the shortest. On some boards a short slot shares its lanes with an M.2 drive, and Which slot to actually pick explains it.
• A USB-C cable runs from the card to your second computer.
  The second computer runs the software, which asks the card for memory and shows what it finds. Your Second Computer covers what it needs.
• An aim device, if you want one.
  Without one the second computer can see but can't move anything. Aim devices.
• A fuser, if you want one.
  It puts both computers on one monitor. A second monitor or a KVM switch works too. Video fusers.

Card, firmware and software

These are three different things, and each is a separate purchase.

• The card is the hardware.
  A board with an FPGA chip, two USB-C ports and a gold strip for the slot. Ours is the GODLIKE 100T, and it has a kill switch on the bracket. Never flip it while your PC is on. The kill switch explains why.
• The firmware tells the card what to do.
  It lives on the card and decides what device the card shows up as on your main PC. Every build except MiTM is bound to your card's DNA ID, so it only runs on that card. MiTM passes a real PCIe device through instead and is tied to your second computer. You can buy firmware with the card or after it arrives. What firmware is.
• The software runs on the second computer.
  We don't sell software. We suggest Blurred, and you buy it from Blurred.

The card ships with factory firmware. DO NOT boot into Windows with the card plugged in until it's flashed. Flashing your firmware walks you through it.

Why it needs two computers

The card sends memory out of the PC you play on, so something outside it has to receive it and run the software. That's the second computer, and it doesn't need to be powerful. If you only have one PC, DMA with one PC covers your options.

What 35T, 75T and 100T mean

Every DMA card is built around an FPGA. It's a chip that acts as different hardware depending on what's loaded onto it, so the same card can take different firmware.

35T, 75T and 100T are the size of that chip. Bigger means more room for firmware, and every build we sell needs a 75T or 100T. Size doesn't change the speed of the link. Why the 100T goes through the sizes.

What it does not do

• It doesn't cost you FPS.
  The card reads memory over PCIe and the second computer does the work, so you should not notice any difference in game.
• It isn't for consoles.
  Every build we sell is made for a desktop PC motherboard, not a PlayStation or an Xbox.

Is it detectable?

Is it legal to own one?

We aren't lawyers and this isn't legal advice.

• The card is ordinary hardware.
  It's an FPGA board, the same kind used for memory research and security testing.
• Using it to cheat breaks the game's rules.
  Games' terms of service ban it, and your account is what gets banned.
• Some countries have laws on cheats.
  South Korea passed a law in 2016 that made making and distributing cheat programs a crime, and the law as it stands today covers cheat devices too.
• Elsewhere, the cases so far are against cheat makers and sellers.
  In the US, a jury found Destiny 2 cheat seller AimJunkies liable for copyright infringement in 2024, in a case Bungie brought. We know of no law in the US, the UK or the EU that makes owning a DMA card a crime, but laws change, so check the law where you live.
