ESP is a cheat that shows you what the game knows and you can't see, like players behind walls, their health and the loot around you. The name comes from extrasensory perception. On a DMA setup it runs on your second computer, and you see it on a second monitor or over your game with a fuser.
ESP vs wallhack
They're the same idea. "Wallhack" is the older word, from shooters like Counter-Strike, and means seeing players through walls. ESP covers that plus everything else drawn on top of the game:
- Boxes or skeletons around each player
- Names, health, weapons and distance
- Items and loot, like dropped guns, crates and keys
- Snaplines, lines from your screen to each player
Chams are different. They colour the player models inside the game itself, which means writing to the game's memory. The software we suggest only reads memory, so it draws ESP as an overlay and has no chams.
How ESP works on DMA
Your DMA card reads the game's memory on your main PC and sends it to your second computer. The software there finds each player's position and your camera, then works out where each one sits on your screen and draws a box there.
Nothing gets drawn on your main PC. With a video fuser, the overlay from your second computer goes on top of your game's picture before it reaches your monitor. Without one, you put the ESP on a second monitor. The step by step is in How DMA cheats work.
What ESP shows in each game
Every game keeps different things in memory, so ESP looks different in each one.
- Rust. Players, NPCs, what's on a player's belt, dropped items and objects like stashes (Rust DMA).
- Escape from Tarkov. Players, scavs and loot, and a radar of the whole map (Tarkov DMA).
- ARC Raiders. Players, ARC enemies and loot (ARC Raiders DMA).
- Call of Duty. Players, and MW4 adds server culling, which stops the server sending enemies you shouldn't see (Call of Duty DMA).
- Fortnite. Players and their distance (Fortnite DMA).
Why ESP lags
If your boxes trail behind players, one of these is the cause.
- Your DMA speed is low.
The software can't read memory fast enough to keep up. Test it with the MewTools speed test and fix it with Fix low DMA speed. - Your second computer is slow.
It does all the work, so an old CPU drops frames (Second PC for DMA). - Your fuser adds delay.
A fuser that can't match your monitor's refresh rate adds lag to the overlay (Do you need a video fuser?). - The server stops sending players.
Some games only send you players near you, so far players show up late or not at all (Call of Duty server culling).
Is ESP detectable?
ESP itself runs on your second computer, so a scan of your main PC finds no ESP program. What anti-cheats can look at is your card, and how you play with what you see. Tracking players through walls and pre-aiming every corner gets you reported, and replays show it. Both sides are covered in Is DMA detectable?
Common questions
- What does ESP stand for in gaming?
Extrasensory perception. In cheats it means seeing things the game hides from you. - Do I need a fuser for ESP?
No, a second monitor works too. A fuser puts it on your game's screen. - Is a radar the same as ESP?
A radar shows the same positions on a map from above instead of on your screen (DMA radar). - Does ESP lower my FPS?
No, it's drawn on your second computer (Does a DMA card lower your FPS?).
Every feature side by side is in DMA cheat features.
