Can I use a DMA card with a laptop?

Yes, as your second computer, unless you run MiTM. A laptop you don't play on anymore does that job well, because nothing goes inside it. As the PC you play on, we don't recommend it. A laptop has no slot for the card, and we can't help you get one working.

A laptop as your second computer

The second computer reads the card over a USB cable and runs your software. A laptop does that as well as a desktop if it has 4 cores or more, 8GB of memory, Windows 10 or 11 and a USB 3 port on the laptop itself. Plug the card's cable straight into that port, not through a hub or a dock. It can't be the laptop you play on.

• Only USB-C ports.
  The cable in the box has USB-A on the computer end, so you need a small adapter. Only USB-C ports? says which one.
• With a video fuser.
  The laptop has to send its picture to the fuser at the same resolution and refresh rate as your main PC. The 4K Pro needs better graphics than most laptops have. Which second PC works with which video fuser goes through each model.
• Not with MiTM.
  MiTM runs on your second computer, and for MiTM that can't be a laptop. Use a desktop or a mini PC.

A laptop as the PC you play on

The card needs a PCIe slot, and laptops don't have one. Some people use an M.2 socket inside the laptop or a Thunderbolt enclosure instead. Our firmware does run through a laptop's M.2 socket on every build except MiTM. We still don't recommend it, and About laptops explains why we won't help with it.
