MAKCU is a small aim device that sits between your mouse and your main PC. Your mouse plugs into it, and your second computer can send it mouse moves over a USB cable. Your main PC only sees one normal mouse. It's the aim device we recommend for every game, VALORANT included.

What MAKCU is

MAKCU is a board with two ESP32-S3 chips on it. One chip talks to your mouse, and the other is what your main PC sees. It passes everything your mouse does straight through, and adds any moves your second computer sends it on top.

  • It polls at 1000 Hz.
That's one report every millisecond. The ESP32-S3's USB runs at full speed, which tops out at 1000 reports a second, so no update changes this.
  • It speaks its own protocol.
Your software sends MAKCU's own commands over a serial link, which Windows shows as a COM port. Check that your software supports MAKCU itself.
  • It has no standalone mode.
On its own, it just passes your mouse through. It only moves anything when software on your second computer tells it to.

How it works in a DMA setup

Your DMA card gets the game's memory to your second computer. Your software works out what to do with it. Without an aim device, that's where it stops: the software can show you things but can't move anything. MAKCU is the last link.

MAKCU's three ports: USB 1 to your main PC, USB 2 to your second computer, USB 3 for your mouse

USB 1, leftYour main PCShows up as your mouse. It also powers MAKCU
USB 2, middleYour second computerThe COM port your software sends commands to

MAKCU only powers up with both computer cables plugged in. Use a USB port on the back of your main PC if you can. Front ports go through a cable inside the case and can drop out.

What to look for in an aim device

  • Your software supports it.
This is the big one. An aim device your software can't talk to does nothing.
  • A polling rate that matches your mouse.
A device can only pass on what your mouse sends. If your mouse runs at 1000 Hz, a 1000 Hz device is all you need.
  • Your mouse and keyboard work with it.
Wired, or wireless with a USB receiver. Bluetooth never goes through any of these, because a Bluetooth mouse talks to your PC directly.
  • A simple driver.
MAKCU needs the CH343 driver from WCH on your second computer. That's it.
  • A fair price.
Aim devices range from about $25 to well over $100 for the same basic job.

FERRUM is worth it if you have an 8000 Hz mouse or you're replacing a KMBox B+ Pro. For everyone else, MAKCU does the same job for a lot less. MAKCU vs FERRUM goes into the details, and What is a KMBox? explains where KMBox fits.

Why we recommend MAKCU

  • It does the job for $25.
It passes your mouse through and takes commands from your second computer, same as devices that cost several times more.
  • 1000 Hz is plenty for most mice.
Higher polling only helps if your mouse runs higher too.
  • It works on VALORANT.
You don't need a pricier device for Vanguard games.

Any device can get detected, MAKCU and FERRUM included. And whichever you use, the game still sees how your aim moves. Can anti-cheat tell how you aim? explains behaviour detection.

Setup basics

  1. Wire it up.
Main PC to the left port, second computer to the middle port, mouse to the right port.
  2. Install the CH343 driver on your second computer.
Without it, no COM port appears. MewTools can install it for you.
  3. Find the COM port.
Device Manager shows it under Ports. If it's COM10 or higher, some software can't open it. Fixing a COM port 10 or higher.
  4. Point your software at it.
Pick MAKCU and the COM port in your software's settings. Only one program can use the port at a time.
  5. Keep it updated.
Firmware updates come from the free MAKCU Toolkit. Updating MAKCU to v4.

MAKCU setup walks you through every step, and MewTools MAKCU and FERRUM errors covers the error codes.

Common questions

  • Does MAKCU work with a keyboard?
MAKCU says it passes keyboards through. It lists keyboard passthrough on v4 as coming soon, so ask in a ticket before you update.
  • Does it work with a wireless mouse?
Yes, if it has its own USB receiver. Plug the receiver into MAKCU's right port. Bluetooth doesn't work.
  • Does it work with a controller?
MAKCU says it passes controllers through too. Some controllers draw more power than it can give.
  • Is 1000 Hz enough?
For a 1000 Hz mouse, yes. If you play on an 8000 Hz mouse and want to keep it, look at FERRUM.
  • Do I need one at all?
Only if you want your software to move your mouse. If you just want to see things, skip it.
  • My mouse stopped working through it.
Check both computer cables are in, then see If it is not working.
  • What if it's faulty?
It has a 3-month warranty and is replaced if it's faulty. Open a ticket in our Discord.
