A KMBox is a keyboard and mouse controller. Your mouse or keyboard plugs into it, it plugs into your main PC, and a second computer can send it inputs. KMBox was one of the first devices made for this, so a lot of DMA software speaks its commands. Today, MAKCU and FERRUM do the same job.
What a KMBox does
Every aim device in a DMA setup works the same basic way. It sits between your mouse and your main PC and passes your mouse through. Your main PC only sees a normal mouse or keyboard. Your second computer sends it extra moves or clicks, and it adds them on top of yours. What DMA software does covers the software side.
KMBox B+ Pro vs KMBox Net
There are two KMBox models people mean most of the time.
- KMBox B+ Pro.
Takes commands from your second computer over USB, on a serial link Windows shows as a COM port. Some listings come with a small screen and some without. - KMBox Net.
Takes commands over a network connection instead, so your software talks to it by IP address and port.
The two speak different command sets. Software made for one doesn't always work with the other, so check which one your software lists.

FERRUM is the easy swap, because your software won't need changing.
MAKCU vs FERRUM compares the two in full, and Connecting your software to FERRUM shows which connection to use for KMBox B+ Pro or KMBox Net software.
Common questions
- Is a KMBox the same as a DMA card?
No. A DMA card reads memory. A KMBox moves your mouse. You can use one without the other, and most people who want aim use both. - Do I need a KMBox for DMA?
Only if you want your software to move your mouse. Without an aim device, it can show you things but can't aim. - Is a KMBox detectable?
Any aim device can get detected, and the game still sees how your aim moves. Can anti-cheat tell how you aim? - Does a Bluetooth mouse work with a KMBox?
No aim device passes Bluetooth through, because a Bluetooth mouse talks to your PC directly. Use a wired mouse or one with its own USB receiver.
