Unable to locate valid DTB: what it means and the fix

Your DMA software connected but can't find Windows in your main PC's memory. Check for TINY PCIe TLP, cold boot, then make a memory map.

"Unable to locate valid DTB" means your DMA software connected and can read, but it can't find the table Windows uses to lay out your main PC's memory. The DTB is where that table sits. You may see it with "Unable to auto-identify operating system" or "Failed to find base address", which are the same problem.

How to fix it

  • Look above it in the log.
If it says FPGA: TINY PCIe TLP Algorithm auto-selected!, the card can't read memory properly yet. Run the activator first.
  • Cold boot the main PC.
Cold boot has the steps. Let it start fully into Windows before you open your software.
  • Make a memory map.
This is the error a memory map fixes most. DMA memory map has the steps for Blurred.
  • Don't turn BIOS settings off to fix it unless we tell you to. Our firmware only needs Fast Boot off. BIOS security settings says why the rest stays on.

If the map is made and it stays, ask your software's support, then tell us in your ticket what they said. Other errors are in DMA error messages.
