These are the error codes MewTools shows while it flashes firmware onto your DMA card or MAKCU. Find the code or the message the app gave you, and the fix is under it. Words in curly brackets, like {name}, get filled in by the app with your details.
Before you flash, the main PC has to be on so the card has power. If the card isn't flashed yet, keep the main PC in the BIOS. Don't boot Windows with an unflashed card in. The JTAG/flash cable goes into the second PC.
MT-301: This file is not an FPGA firmware file.
You picked something that isn't firmware.
- Pick the .bin or .bit firmware file itself.
- Not a zip, a text file or anything else. If you got a zip, unzip it first and pick the file inside.
MT-302: This firmware is for a {file} chip but your card has a {card} chip.
The file was built for a different chip than the one on your card. The app stops so it doesn't flash the wrong thing.
- Download the firmware made for your card from your order.
- If that's the file you picked, open a ticket.
MT-303: Could not tell which chip this firmware is for.
The app couldn't read which chip the file is meant for.
- Make sure you picked the .bin or .bit file from your order.
- Not a zip or a text file.
MT-304: This file doesn't fit a {chip} chip.
The file doesn't fit your card's chip. Usually that's a broken download or the wrong file.
- Download the firmware again.
- Pick the .bin or .bit file on its own.
MT-306: The flasher tool is missing or changed.
The part of the app that does the flashing is gone or doesn't match, so it won't run.
- For the card, reinstall MewTools.
- For MAKCU, open the MAKCU flash steps again so it downloads again.
MT-307: The flash failed.
The flash stopped before it was done.
- Keep the main PC on.
- Unplug the JTAG/flash cable, plug it back in and click Retry.
- Check the JTAG/flash driver on the Drivers screen. Driver errors has each one.
MT-308: The flash finished but the check after it did not match.
The flash ran, but when the app read it back it wasn't the same as the file.
- Click Retry.
- If it fails twice, open a ticket with the summary.
MT-309: Plug in the JTAG/flash cable before flashing.
The app can't flash without the JTAG/flash cable.
- Plug the JTAG/flash cable into the second PC.
- Wait for the dot to turn green, then flash.
- If it never turns green, see MT-103.
MT-310: Could not read the firmware file.
The app couldn't open the file you picked.
- Download the file again.
- Pick it from a normal folder like Downloads, not from inside a zip.
Still stuck
Open a ticket in our Discord (how to open one) and paste the summary MewTools gives you, so we can see what it saw. After a flash that worked, flashing your firmware covers restarting the main PC properly.
