What is RDMA? DMA without a DMA card, explained

RDMA sends your main PC's memory to your second PC over Ethernet, with no DMA card. How it works, who it's for, RDMA vs a DMA card vs MiTM, and what you need.

RDMA is DMA without a card. Instead of a PCIe card reading your main PC's memory, a driver on your main PC sends it over Ethernet to your second computer, where your software reads it. It runs on AMD and Intel, and covers Vanguard and EAC.

How RDMA works

The name comes from remote direct memory access: reading memory over a network instead of over a card.

  • A driver on your main PC.
It's a signed WHQL driver, so there's nothing to run at startup.
  • An Ethernet link to your second PC.
Both PCs on the same router, or one cable straight between them, which is faster. Wi-Fi doesn't work.
  • Your software on the second PC.
Same as any DMA setup. It reads the memory and shows you what it finds.

Your internet speed doesn't matter, because all of this happens on your own network.

Who RDMA is for

  • You're on AMD and want VALORANT and Fortnite.
Vanguard on AMD is hard for card builds. RDMA covers it.
  • Your motherboard doesn't work with DMA.
No card means no slot problems.
  • You don't want to buy a card.
You still need a second computer, but no DMA card.

RDMA or MiTM comes down to what you prefer. On AMD, MiTM can't run VALORANT, so there it's RDMA or AMD VGK. MiTM firmware explains the other side.

What you need

  • Two PCs with Ethernet.
No port? A USB to Ethernet adapter works if it's at least 1 Gbps, and 2.5 Gbps is better. Plug it into a USB 3 port.
  • A key.
1, 3 or 6 months, bought in the shop. Slots are limited.
  • A ticket after you pay.
Open a ticket in our Discord with your order number, and we go through the requirements and set the driver up with you.

Getting your network ready for RDMA shows how to connect the two PCs, and Monthly keys explains how renewing works.

Common questions

  • Does RDMA need a DMA card?
    No. That's the whole point.
  • Does it run anything on my main PC?
Yes, the RDMA driver. That's the main difference from a card, where nothing of ours runs on your main PC.
  • Can I use Wi-Fi?
No. Both PCs need a cable.
  • Is it detectable?
Everything can and will be detected eventually, no matter what anyone says. Our firmware has had a good track record so far. A ban on its own isn't a warranty claim. Warranty and upgrades.
  • What happens when my key runs out?
It stops working until you renew. Monthly keys.
