Over the last day or two Fortnite ran a ban wave that caught a lot of players at once, including legit players and streamers who do not cheat, which you can see all over X right now. Some of our customers got caught in it too, and only people on two separate devices, which looks like coincidence more than anything.
Is your firmware safe
Yes, we do not believe this is a detection of the firmware. People are still on those devices right now with no issue, including our tester who has been on them for hours. For two separate firmwares to both get detected on the same day would be a huge coincidence, and plenty of legit players with no DMA at all are reporting the same bans on X. So this looks like Fortnite false banning a lot of people at once. They may say something about it, but either way it is not our hardware. Everything can and will be detected eventually no matter what anyone says, but our firmware has had a good track record of being undetected, and this does not look like one of those cases.
What to do if you were banned
Appeal it with Epic first, since a wide false ban wave like this usually gets reversed. You can appeal here: https://safety.epicgames.com/sanctions-and-appeals
Then give it about a week. If you are still banned a week after you appealed, open a ticket in our Discord with proof of your week-old appeal and phantom will replace your firmware. A ban like this sits on your device's serial, so once it is banned you need a fresh serial to get back on, and that is what a replacement gives you. If people are already getting unbanned around that time, he will give it another week first, in case yours is about to come back on its own. If you are in warranty the replacement is free.
Help us confirm it
To be completely sure this is the ban wave and nothing on our end, we are asking anyone who got hit to run a quick check on their PC. It is a small script that reads your system and writes one text file to your Desktop. It does not touch your passwords or anything personal, it only lists your apps, your hardware and what your PC has connected to, and everything it does is written inside it. Open a ticket and we will send you the check.
When you send it back, include:
- The text file from the check.
- Your best estimate of the exact date and time you were banned.
- Your tracker link, so we can look at your account.
If we find anything the banned people have in common, we will post it here. If you have questions ask on our forum, so anyone else with the same question can see the answer.
You don't need an account, this tells us what to write more of.
