Device detected or blocked? What it means for your DMA firmware

One device getting detected doesn't touch the others. What a device is, what happens when we pull one, and how to read our status page.

Our firmware is undetected, and it runs on several separate devices. If one device ever gets detected or blocked, we pull it, and every other device carries on as normal. So whenever you buy, your firmware goes on a device that's undetected.

Seeing "Detected" on our status page can look scary when you're new. It's about one device, not all of our firmware.

What a device is

Your firmware makes your DMA card pretend to be a real piece of hardware in your main PC, like a network or sound card. That hardware is the device. A group of customers share each device, and everyone on it has their own serials.

  • Advanced and Private.
Each runs on its own devices, separate from every other build.
  • Premium T1, T2 and T3.
Each tier runs several devices at once, with up to 50, 25 and 5 people on each.
  • MiTM.
Not shared. Every MiTM user has their own device.

What shared firmware means goes deeper.

Why one device going down doesn't touch the others

When an anti-cheat detects or blocks a device, it has learned to spot that one device. Every other device looks like different hardware to it, so the rest aren't affected. That goes for the devices on other builds and for the other devices in the same Premium tier.

Your serials are your own too, so another user's ban doesn't get your card banned.

Blocked on one anti-cheat, fine on another

Every build works on more than one anti-cheat. Advanced is made for EAC, Private is made for Vanguard, and both also work on BattlEye, VAC, Ricochet and more. Each product page lists which anti-cheats it works on.

Anti-cheats work differently, so a device can be blocked on one and still be fine on the others. For example, a Private device could be blocked on BattlEye and still be undetected on Vanguard. The status page then shows that device as Partially blocked and names the anti-cheats it was hit on.

Everyone on it is told which anti-cheat it was. It still works on the others for now, and in warranty you can get new firmware straight away, the same way as below.

What happens when a device is detected or blocked

  • We pull it.
    Nobody new goes on it.
  • Everyone on it is told automatically.
You get a notice on the site and an email. Both are on by default, under Device status in your settings.
  • In warranty, you get new firmware for a new device.
Press Get my new firmware in the email or on your order page and we make it. We email you when it's on your order page.
  • You re-flash.
A new device means a new file. You flash it the same way as the first time, in about ten minutes. Flashing your firmware shows every step.

You wait a week at most for the new device. If a new device isn't possible, we move you to another firmware instead, for example Premium T1. Out of warranty you don't get the new device, but 40% of what you paid comes off your next order. If we hadn't sent you your firmware yet, we make it on a new device instead. Firmware warranty has the rest.

A rotation doesn't need a re-flash

A rotation is when we close a device to new buyers and open a new one. On Advanced and Private that happens when a device gets too many people. On Premium it happens once a device has been out for a while. If you're on the old device, you keep it and it keeps working. You don't re-flash. Device rotation explains how it works on Premium.

Being moved is different. If we move you to another device, or give you a new build after a detection, you do re-flash. You're told on the site and by email, you press Get my new firmware, and you flash the new file the same way as the first time.

How to read the status page

The status page lists every device we run, grouped by build. It never shows who's on a device.

  • Right now.
The box at the top counts the devices in each status. When none is detected or blocked, it says "Every device is undetected right now."
  • The status on each device.
Undetected means it's working and undetected. Partially blocked means it was hit on some anti-cheats and is still fine on the others. Detected and Blocked mean we pulled it.
  • Anti-cheats.
The build's main anti-cheat, and any that were hit, show with their own status. The rest fold into a line like "12 more, all undetected".
  • You're on this one.
When you're signed in, this marks your device.
  • Spots taken.
How many people are on it. A device with a limit shows it out of that limit, like "3 of 5 spots taken".
  • History.
The latest changes on that device, and when each one happened.

When you're signed in, you can turn on Tell me when a status changes at the top of the page to hear about every change.

If you get banned

A ban on its own doesn't mean your device is detected. Bans also come from reports, stats and how someone plays, so check your device on the status page first. If you think the device is the reason, open a ticket in our Discord with the game, what happened and when. That's how we hear about a problem early.
