MewDMA account help: sign-up, email, password, 2FA

You need an account to order, leave a review or post on the forum. Every order goes on it, and it's where your firmware files, tracking and warranties live.

Making an account

Go to Sign up, type your email and a username, and press Create account. Your username is what people see on your reviews and forum posts. It's 3 to 24 letters, numbers or underscores, and you can change it once every 30 days. Throwaway email addresses aren't accepted.

We then email you Confirm your MewDMA email. Press Confirm my email in it, pick your password (8 characters or more) on the page that opens, and press Create my account. That's when your account is made, and it signs you in. The link works for 24 hours and only once.

If the email hasn't come after a few minutes, check your spam folder, or press Send it again on the sign-up page. Nothing exists until you open the link, so if it never arrives you can just sign up again.

You can also sign up with Google or Discord, on the same page or at checkout.

Signed in with Discord and asked for an email

Some Discord accounts don't share an email with us. If yours doesn't, the site asks you to add one straight after you sign in. We need it to send your receipts and keys, and so you can still get in if anything happens to your Discord. Until you add it you can read the site, but you can't buy, post, send messages, add balance or see your orders. Not now, keep reading lets you look around first.

Nothing in your inbox? Press Send it again, or Use a different email if you made a typo.

If the page says that email already has a MewDMA account, you made one before. Sign out, sign in to that account, and link Discord from its settings. If that doesn't work, open a ticket in our Discord and we'll sort out the two accounts with you.

Linking your Discord

Linking Discord is how our server knows which roles to give you: the Customer role once you have a paid order, and the MiTM role if you run MiTM. Join our server and verify there first. Then press Link Discord under Connected accounts in Settings, or use Link my Discord, and the roles land within a couple of minutes. Linking also lets you sign in with Discord, and Google links the same way from the same place.

Changing your email

In Settings, under Account, press Change next to Email.

Type the new address, and your current password if your account has one, then press Send the link
We email your current address first, to check it's really you. Press Yes, it was me in that email, then Yes, that was me on the page it opens
We then email the new address. Press Confirm my new email in that one, then Yes, use this address

Each link works for 2 hours. Nothing changes until the last button is pressed, so your old address keeps working until then.

If you get an Is this you? email you didn't ask for, don't press the button. Only someone signed in to your account can ask for a change. Reset your password straight away, make sure your email account is safe, and open a ticket in our Discord so we can lock the account down.

Changing or resetting your password

In Settings, press Change next to Password, then Yes, send it, and we email you Reset your MewDMA password. If you're signed out, press Forgot? on the sign-in page to get the same email. Its link works for 2 hours and only once, and your current password keeps working until you set a new one.

Whenever your password changes, we email you Your MewDMA password was changed. If it wasn't you, reset it with the button in that email and open a ticket in our Discord.

Two-step sign-in asks for a six-digit code from an app on your phone as well as your password, so someone who gets your password still can't get in.

In Settings, press Turn on next to Two-step sign-in
Scan the code with an authenticator app, like Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password. If your camera won't read it, type in the key shown with it
Type the six digits the app shows and press Confirm
Save the 10 recovery codes somewhere that isn't your phone, then press I have saved them

The recovery codes are only shown once. Each one works once, and they're how you get back in if you lose your phone: type one where the sign-in page asks for your six-digit code. To switch two-step sign-in off, press Turn off and type a code from the app, or a recovery code.

If you've lost your phone and your recovery codes, open a ticket in our Discord. How we check it's really you before we switch it off: TBD.

Deleting your account

There's no delete button. Open a ticket in our Discord and ask. Do the same if you want a copy of the information we hold on you, or want it corrected. Some order records may have to be kept after an account is deleted, and our privacy terms say why.

Download any firmware file you still need before you ask. What happens to a warranty that's still running once the account is gone: TBD, so ask in the same ticket.
