Members get points for taking part, like posting each week, helping people, being followed and vouched for, reviewing what they bought and buying. The table shows how many points each thing gives and the most it counts. All the points added together is the score, and a higher score gives a higher rank.
You lose 5 points each time a moderator removes your post or topic, and 15 points each time you get muted or banned, with no limit. Anything that gets removed also takes back the points it gave, so a deleted topic loses its topic points, its reply points and its answer points. If you don't write a real post for 7 days, your weekly points stop until you post again. Your points never go below 0.
Some things don't count, so nobody can cheat their way up. A real post is one with at least 25 characters left once quotes, links and emoji are taken out. A day or a week only counts if you wrote a real post in it, and just opening pages doesn't count. A reply only counts if it's a real post, and only 3 of your replies in the same topic count. A topic only gives points once somebody else replies to it. Follows, vouches and Helpful presses only count when they come from an account with a real email address (not a throwaway one) that has been confirmed. When two accounts sign up from the same internet connection, the newer one starts earning once it's 14 days old and has written a real post in 2 different weeks. Staff can allow it sooner if you ask.
